Berry Cereal

You want cereal for breakfast but you need the fruit first fuel. Here’s the perfect solution. An assortment of beautiful summer berries with a splash of ice cold mylk. I prefer to make my own hemp milk, but you can also opt for store-bought oat milk (look for just oats, water, and salt – Elmhurst is my preferred brand.) I give a quick recipe for banana mylk below, in case you want to keep things extra fruity.

To take it to the next level with some crunch, add in the oil-free granola clusters. It’s the perfect way to optimize digestion of the fruit without interference.

Play with different berry & fruit combos. Have fun! If berries are out of season, you can opt for readily available fruits like bananas. & if you’re really feeling naughty, finish with a dust of cacao powder (the organic one from Trader Joe’s is out of this world!)

Hemp Milk:

Throw everything in a high-speed blender & blend until smooth. Optional to strain – it will have a little pulp if you don’t, but I don’t mind it at all. You can also adjust the date ratio if you’d like to have it be more or less sweet. Same with the water, if you’d like to adjust the thickness of the milk.

Stores in the fridge for about a week. Great on granola, use in your baked goods, can also use as a base for creamy dressings & sauces.

Banana Mylk:

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 c water

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (or 1 soft pitted date)

  • optional: splash of vanilla extract

Blend on high until smooth, about 1 minute.

Assembly:

Put a mix of your favorite seasonal berries / fruits in a bowl. Pour the chilled mylk over the top. Dust with cacao powder, if you dare.
