Honeyed Stone Fruit Bowl
Such a beautiful way to get your fruit in first thing. Also an amazing ohmage to the gorgeous summer months when a bounty of produce is readily available from local farmers. Try embodying the cycle of seasons & the different fruits that are available week to week. This is a beautiful way to connect with your food & check out some farmer’s markets! Also an incredible way to get to know a new place, whether you’re traveling or in a new home.
In the colder winter months you can easily adjust this to utilize in-season produce, like citrus fruits. I’ve included an option for a winter citrus bowl below.
Honeyed Stone Fruit Bowl:
Stone fruit of choice: cherries, plums, nectarines…
1 lime, juiced
1 tbsp raw unrefined honey
Optional: edible flowers (anise hyssop shown here)
Pit & halve the cherries, slide the plums & nectarines into wedges. Mix the honey into the lime juice until dissolved. Pour over the fruit. Top with edible flowers of choice, if desired. Eat right away or you can store away in the fridge for a few days to intensify the flavors & let the fruit break down a bit. Also delicious!
Winter Citrus Salad:
assorted citrus fruits as desired, sectioned (you could use pomelo, grapefruit, mandarin oranges, blood oranges…)
1 tbsp raw unrefined honey
Optional: fresh mint, edible flowers, bee pollen
Combine the citrus segments, honey, and mint together. Garnish as desired!
